Looks like I've been hacked!

I have a not-so-secret double life. By day, I'm a mild manned wage slave; but some nights I like to dress up in my robe and wizards hat and join a few million other players in Azeroth.Yes ladies and gentlemen, I play World of Warcraft. But Neil, I hear you cry, 'what could someone like you possibly enjoy about such a geeky game?' Well apart from the obvious, I actually enjoy playing it. I get bored

Snow! Guernsey! Rat!

We had a really warm day on Friday, so it was a bit of a shock when it started snowing this afternoon. Snow in Guernsey is a pretty rare event, so of course I grabbed the camera to record the event. What do I find in the garden? A big fat rat nibbling away at the seed we leave out for the birds. He didn't seem to mind the cold and the snow! Mr Rat tucks into his grub. This winters been very strange.

Flock

So I'm giving Flock a try on my Macbook Air. First impressions are rather favourable. I like the tight integration with sites such as Flickr and Facebook. Definitely missing Omniwebs  image based tabs, not to mention my all time favourite feature - any link that leads to a new site opening in a new tab.     I love that feature and I really don't know why no other

Ouchy

So I've been on a right downer for the last couple of days. On Thursday I managed to completely bugger up my right shoulder, or separated it to be more exact. Luckily it isn't too serious and will sort itself out with time and rest, but for now in the first couple of days since doing it, it is nothing but annoying. I haven't slept comfortably in three days now. The first night I didn't sleep at

Bloody Traffic

Disclaimer: As I am British, I am under contractual obligation to talk about the weather.Well I suppose that you've heard the news about the big storm thats battering the UK? Well is here in the Channel Islands have also been hit pretty hard. Most of the costal roads were closed today, and the Town seafront was flooded out. This photo by Steve Sarre, featured in the Press gives a good indication of

Coming Home

So my birthday and the trip to jersey has been and gone. Oh well, just Steve & Gina's wedding to look forward to now. I shot a fair bit of video when we were over. I'm torn between putting something together now or sitting down with my Pro Training manual and actually learning Final Cut and putting it all together in that. Still while I'm deciding, heres a little clip of the Trilander arriving a Guernsey

Other Sites & These Things Here -->

I've added two little widgets to the site. One for Twitter, which I can update from almost anywhere - thanks to a combination of internet access and mobile phone. Think of it like the status updates on Facebook. The 2nd is a widget that will show my last few updates to Flickr. Simply click on a thumbnail to be taken to the larger image in Flickr itself. I've only just really started using Flickr, and

Sore wrists and a holiday booking

No updates recently as I've just not been able to type them! My wrists been really dodgy for the last couple of weeks, and by the time I've finished work its been very tender and sore. Not completely sure what's wrong with it just yet, but my Dr thinks it may be related the the plate in my wrist. I've had an X-ray today, so with a bit of luck we can figure out what is causing it and get it sorted.

Laserball

Continuing my theme of actually updating this site with content more regularly. Today I bring to you the joys of Laserball. This was my secret santa gift from work, and whoever got it for me must have known about my fetish for bright and colourful lights. Now I have to admit, the first impressions aren't favourable. as the box looks pretty tacky. Opening it up you become even more suspicious as your

There are a few of my favourite things... Music

So 2007 came and went in what seems to have been a flash. It's strange how quickly the year seems to have passed, as for large chunks of it I'd have sworn that time had stopped. I don't be able to judge 2007 as a year for a few months yet. In many ways I moved forwards, but I feel as though I went backwards quite a bit as well. How it evens out, will just have to be seen with context later on. So around

Christmas Time, Mistletoe and a Lack of Wine

Ah Christmas, the time of year when I traditionally get drunk, and just about make it through Christmas dinner without throwing up because of my hangover. But not this year!It is now Boxing Day evening and not a drop of alcohol. Admittedly, this is mostly because I'd forgotten to go to the Wine Warehouse but not having the hangover has been pretty nice. So what nightmares awaiting me under the tree

Rain, rain go away

Well my moods been as bad as the weather recently. Just not a happy bunny at the moment. I've managed to screw up my shoulder, and it hurts incessantly. I don't recall being comfortable in the last couple of weeks, no matter how I sit, or lie I can feel it throbbing away. It also means that I haven't had a decent nights sleep in ages. I hope it heals itself soon, as I'm starting to go mad. Hmm, it

Fragile, handle with care

Definately a case of the morning after the night before, and am now only just shaking off the resulting hangover. Thats the first time I've just blanked out in years, and I do mean years. Maybe a sign that its time to back off the booze.I've just put a new gallery up of selected sunsets.

Artrage

I've just discovered the fantastic Artrage. I'd imagine its been out for a while, but it's new to me.As the name suggests it's a art program that is really nice to use. I tried it with a mouse, but just couldn't get the precision with it. I used to love sketching, and if I say so myself was pretty good at it all those years ago. I tried to get back into it a while back, but got frustrated as I couldn't

Fed up

I'm fed up. Thats it in a nutshell, I'm fed up and pissed off with the way this year is going. The bike broke down again yesterday, the 2nd time this year. The shop say they've fixed the problem, but thats exactly what they said last time. I'm fed up with always being sick. I really can't remember a time so far this year where I haven't had a cold or an ear infection or anything else like that. I've

Long Time no Update!

Wow, no updates since October. Thats pretty poor. How could I sum up the last few months without taking forever? Well, read a few books, watched a lot of films, played a few games and had a few drinks. That'll about do it. Anyway, chances are if your reading this, you know who I am and know this anyway. So what's actually new? Well Justin's Stag-Do was last week, and the photos are now up in the gallery.I've

It's the Tuesday after Justin's party and I'm still feeling it. I'm getting far too old for this. Two 'Dawn Patrol's' in a week - I just can't do it any more. Which is a bit of a bugger as we're all in France from next week. I feel like I need a pre-holiday holiday and I may just have to take a day off and have a long weekend.Well I have to say that I can't wait for the holiday. Nine nights with no

Sark Camp

So another Sark Camp has been and gone... Oh well, only another 32 days until France!Highlights of this year? Well it has to be the 'rave' in the harbour. Xbox 360 Goodness

I'm back at work again. Normally when I've been sick I'm just pleased to get back and get into the swing of things again, and have the little things that you miss such as human interaction. My feelings at the current juncture couldn't be more different, I really don't see the point in being there. So it's a good job that we're off to Jersey on Friday. Yep my birthday weekend has rolled around again.

I'm not supposed to go back until next wek according to the Dr, but what do they know :)On the plus side, my Xbox 360 has arrived, and I have to say that I'm for the most part impressed. Rubbish start to a year

For the last two weeks I've been suffering with Salmonella poisoning, which has meant that I have not been able to venture too far from a toilet for fear of an accident. But after two weeks of running for the toilet ever other hour, I've jsut about had enough. On the plus side,

Things keep breaking :(

Why do things keep breaking around here? My iPod Nano screen mysteriously decided to crack straight down the middle rendering it useless. Then today, my big heavy and most importantly warm winter coat's zip decides that it no longer wishes to work, leaving me with just a light spring jacket until I get paid next week. We'd all heard of the problems with the Nano when it was first released, but I've
